In a world marked by geopolitical conundrums, the significance of India-ASEAN cooperation has never witnessed a greater prominence. As traditional partners, blending in culture and modernity, India and ASEAN are poised to play a pivotal role in charting the future of Asia and the globe. The 3rd edition of India-ASEAN Youth Conference aims to address the challenges evoked by volatile global events such as the great power rivalry between the U.S. and China and the geostrategic contestation of the Indo-Pacific region. These events have been instrumental in charting the regional security and economic landscape. Together, India and ASEAN are emerging economic powerhouses, and with shared interests and values, can bolster a partnership towards strengthening regional security and prosperity. By empowering youth in dialogue from both regions, the conference will become a dynamic platform to synergise meaningful exchanges, bring in fresh perspectives, and aim to render innovative solutions.

In a world shaped by geopolitical transitions and economic realignments, the Global South has emerged as a defining force in international affairs. Against this backdrop, India and ASEAN, as natural partners with shared values and historical ties, are uniquely positioned to shape the contours of a more inclusive and resilient global order. The Second Edition of the India–ASEAN Youth Conference, titled “In Perspective: The Global South and Economics,” brought together youth voices from both regions to deliberate on the awakening of the Global South and the positioning of India and ASEAN within the evolving global economic order.

India-ASEAN Youth Conference 2023

In a year when Indonesia assumed the ASEAN Chairmanship and India held the G20 Presidency, the inaugural India–ASEAN Youth Conference marked the beginning of a youth-led dialogue platform connecting both regions. Organised by The Geostrata in collaboration with Foreign Policy Talks, the conference underscored the importance of youth-to-youth relations and people-led diplomacy in shaping regional and global governance.
